Just did this with ...
Just did this with my new dug Yoshi (3-4 years old, black English Lab, rescued with separation anxiety). This worked PERFECTLY for me. Make sure to follow her instructions and I am sure they can work for you. By following the instructions Yoshi went from being almost joint at my hip to me being able to walk around my flat, take my time and even be out of sight.

You must be patient and consistent. Be happy, be firm, but don't be angry. Just think back to school, did you like the shouty teacher?

- Thanks Diane! :-) ...
- Thanks Diane! :-) Yes, I've seen people do it your way too. I was just worried that in that case, the dog would see the "click" as the release signal...therefore when you fade the clicker away, they won't have a clear signal of when the exercise is finished and therefore might be more likely to jump up before it's time...whereas I see clicking after the release word as like rewarding for the WHOLE exercise (like chaining) ie. staying down AND only getting up for the release word.
